hue (noun) color/shade of a color; a type of opinion, belief, etc.

The hues in a painting are the shades of color in the painting. The hue of the sky at sunset is the color of the sky at sunset. ‘The touch of brown on the blue brought about a realistic hue on the face of the picture of the girl.’ This means that the mixture of the two colors made the girl’s face look realistic in that particular mood. A type of belief or opinion is a hue. Politicians of all hues are politicians of all types of opinions and beliefs. People of all religious hues are the people of all kinds of religions.
