hypercritical (adj) too eager to find fault with people and things.

A hypercritical person always looks for an opportunity to find fault with others or things, especially about very small matters. They have a tendency to blame others for even minor faults.

  • A hypercritical attitude in a person ruins their happiness and enjoyment of life. When a person is hypercritical none or nothing is to their satisfaction and so they are always displeased.
  • The hypercritical professor finds none of the students to his satisfaction, and always blames them, forgetting that as a student he too made mistakes quite often.
