immaculate (adj) (of places, persons) absolutely clean and tidy; (of a performance) perfect.

When a place is immaculate it is absolutely clean, without a speck of dirt. When a person is immaculate they are tidy and smart in their appearance. Immaculate clothes are spotlessly clean and tidy. We expect hospital rooms and its surroundings to be immaculate, that is, perfectly clean and hygienic. The immaculate performance of an artiste is their perfect action of the role they have acted. If a singer's performance is immaculate, her singing is perfect.

  • Dressed in their immaculate uniforms, the children lined up before the priest to receive his blessings. It was really nice to watch the children standing tidy in their absolutely clean uniforms.
  • Charlton Heston's performance in the movie Benhur was immaculate. None could have acted the role of Benhur better. He richly deserved the Oscar he was awarded for it.
