implacable (adj) (of opinions and attitudes) that cannot be changed; continue opposing.

You are implacable in your dislike of something if you continue to dislike it, if there is no change or lessening of your dislike for it. You remain implacable if you continue to oppose something, however much others try to convince you. You maintain your stand of dislike, opposition, protest, etc., if you are implacable.

  • The media as a whole remained implacable in their opposition to the government's proposal that the source of information be revealed by news reporters.
  • The workers are implacable in their opposition to the increase in the working hours along with the increase in the wages. They insist on having higher wages for the same working hours.
