improvident (adj) careless about future.
A person that is improvident spends money carelessly and does not provide for the future. They do not plan for their future. Improvident persons think only of the present and have no thought of the future, especially with regard to money and about providing for their old age.
- Smithís life in his last days was miserable. But no one was surprised as in his days of active life he spent money carelessly and was improvident enough not to provide for his old age.
