inclement (adj) (Of weather) cold, damp and unpleasant.

Inclement weather is unpleasant weather, mainly because it is rainy, cold and damp. ‘Inclement weather prevented us from going fishing.’ This means that they did not go fishing in the sea because of bad weather.

  • The inclement weather did not prevent Nick and Adams from their plans to climb the mountain. They would take the risk because they were determined to break a record.
