incoherent (adj) (of words, ideas, person) disconnected, so difficult to understand.
Incoherent thoughts are thoughts not logically expressed or presented. A person is incoherent if his ideas lack a proper order or the words he expresses them in are not properly connected and so are difficult to understand. A mad manís talk is incoherent; that is he talks disjointedly of something which does not make any sense. A piece of writing is incoherent if the writer fails to organize his thoughts and to express them logically.
- Upset by the news of heavy losses in his business and of the death of his brother at the same time, he was incoherent. Those around were unable to make out what he was saying.
- Written in haste and without proper planning the book is incoherent at many places. The readers have trouble making out what the writer is trying to say.
