incontrovertible (adj) absolutely true and undeniable (of proof, evidence, etc.).
A statement that is incontrovertible is true and cannot be disputed or denied. It is true and cannot be proved false. Incontrovertible evidence is evidence which is true and cannot be questioned. A photo showing a person in the act of committing a crime is an incontrovertible evidence of their crime.
- The blood marks on the clothes of the deceased and those at the scene of the murder have tallied, and that is incontrovertible evidence of the prisonerís guilt. None can deny it.
- That he was present at the scene of the crime is now established. This photo is an incontrovertible proof of it. The question, however, is "was he there at the time of the crime?".
