incredulity (north) inability and unwillingness to believe.
When you have incredulity about something, you are unwilling or unable to believe it. If someone told you they could fly like a bird, you would look at them with incredulity; that is, you would look at them with disbelief. Your incredulity of something is your disbelief of it.
- When her husband told Clara that he was going to divorce her, she stared at him with incredulity. Theirs had so far been a happy marriage and a divorce was the last thing she expected.
