iniquitous (adj) very unfair; wicked; immoral.

An iniquitous action is an immoral action; a very wicked action. Your treatment of a person is iniquitous if you treat the person unfairly or wrongly. To deny a person their rightful share in a property is to deal with them iniquitously. An iniquitous system does not give equal treatment to all. Being cruel and unjust to people is to be iniquitous.

  • It is very iniquitous of them not only to deny him the opportunity to speak out his opinions, but also to imprison him. Nothing could be more wicked and immoral than this.
  • The tax system affects the lower income group of the society very adversely. It is an iniquitous system as it is very unfair towards them.
