insuperable (adj) insurmountable; difficult to deal with successfully.

An insuperable problem is one you cannot deal with successfully. An insuperable problem has no easy solution or has no solution at all. Eradication of poverty and illiteracy all over the world is an insurmountable problem; that is, it is very difficult to wipe out poverty and illiteracy in the world.

  • In spite of insuperable obstacles, human beings were at last been able to conquer space in 1954. What had appeared seemingly impossible became a reality with the sputnik entering outer space.
  • For a long time, breaking the four minute a mile record seemed insuperable, as no one had been able to clock less than four minutes a mile. But that has been broken, and we have proved that one can run faster than that.
