invulnerable (adj) incapable of attack or damage.

To be invulnerable is to be completely safe from attack or harm. An invulnerable person cannot be harmed or defeated. A person's position is invulnerable if they in that position cannot be attacked, harmed, or defeated. A fort or a castle is invulnerable if the enemy cannot force their entry into it.

  • The team with its lead of at least forty points to nil appeared invulnerable to the opposing team. They thought that in that situation, they can never even narrow the lead, let alone win.
  • Our objective must be to build up a society, totally invulnerable to any disease. Everyone must be healthy and have enough resistance to diseases.
