irreconcilable (adj) incompatible.
Opinions which are irreconcilable are so opposed to each other that there can be no agreement between them. So are irreconcilable differences so opposite that people who have them cannot agree with each other. A couple agree upon a divorce when their attitudes, opinions, etc., are irreconcilable. That is, they hold such different attitudes, opinions, etc., that they cannot agree with each other or live together. Two persons are irreconcilable if they have totally opposite views and cannot compromise on them. The differences between Saddam Hussein and the US are irreconcilable; that is, they can never be settled.
- The Nazis and the Jews have been irreconcilable foes. There could never be friendly relations between them.
