kismet (noun) (Very rarely used and not understood by many) fate.

Kismet means fate, fortune, etc. If your kismet is good you are lucky. If you have bad luck, your kismet does not favor you.

  • People who believe in predestination automatically believe in kismet, because kismet is nothing but fate.
  • That fate plays a role in our life appears to be more likely than not. In spite of our belief in rationalism, we cannot explain why things happen the way they do except by kismet.
