When you achieve something great, or when your performance is admirable, you receive kudos from people who admire you or praise you. Like congratulations, kudos is a word in praise of your doing something important successfully. 'Kudos to the team for winning the match.' This means all praise for the team for winning the match.

  • Our kudos to the scientists who have made space travel a reality, and to the astronauts for having returned safely from their space travel. Their achievement is really praiseworthy.
  • British scientists have the kudos of cloning the lamb successfully. The praiseworthy achievement may lead to human cloning.
