You are lackadaisical in studies if you do not show proper interest in studies. A doctor has a lackadaisical approach to his profession if he is not interested in it. You are lackadaisical in your job if you are not enthusiastic about it.

  • Because of James' lackadaisical approach to his profession as a lawyer, he became a failure. He was more interested in politics than in his practice.
  • Though Smithson was lackadaisical about his children's education, his wife took keen interest in it and saw that both her sons came out of university with flying colors.
