A multilingual piece of writing is written in several different languages. A carton may have on it details of the product inside, in different languages, and this is a case of multilingual detail. A multilingual phrase book contains words of the same meaning in different languages.

  • India is a very good example of a multilingual nation. Among its people are nearly twenty language groups.
  • In a multilingual society, no language can continue in its pure, native form. Each language in the society is influenced by the other languages, as speakers of the languages come into contact with one another.
