A bonded laborer on farms in Latin American countries is a peon. A person who works on the farms to repay his debt is a peon. A peon is also a person doing a servant like job which is boring, unimportant and low-paid.

  • It is really shocking that even in the 21st century, there are peons, who work on farms to repay their debt to their landlords. They cannot be free until their earnings can clear their debts.
