When you are pertinacious, you are tenacious, that is, determined to achieve what you want to achieve. You are determined to achieve your goals or aims in spite of difficulties or obstacles in your way if you are pertinacious. Successful people are successful because they are pertinacious; that is, they succeed because of their determined nature, because they are pertinacious.
