If you feel that someone has slighted you or ignored you, the anger that you feel is pique. For example, when you see that nobody is listening to you or paying any attention to you, you have pique, that is, you feel annoyed and upset. The feeling of resentment you have when you feel that you are not shown proper regard is pique.
