pique (noun) irritation or anger.

If you feel that someone has slighted you or ignored you, the anger that you feel is pique. For example, when you see that nobody is listening to you or paying any attention to you, you have pique, that is, you feel annoyed and upset. The feeling of resentment you have when you feel that you are not shown proper regard is pique.

  • When some references were made to some of her serious mistakes at the meeting, she walked out of the meeting in pique. She could not tolerate others pointing out her mistakes.
