When you prattle you go on talking a lot about things of little or no importance. When a person prattles they talk on endlessly about unimportant or silly things. ‘He prattles frequently; only, he should have the opportunity.’ This means that he goes on talking about uninteresting and unimportant matters if he gets the opportunity.
