A projectile is an object like a bullet, explosive or a stone thrown at others, especially the enemy, as a weapon. Humans have used projectiles for long as weapons which can hurt the enemy from a distance. In modern times, they have taken the form of bullets, bombs, grenades, etc.

  • The supporters of the team against which the referee gave the decision hurled stones at him. One of the stones acting as projectiles hitting his head made him unconscious.
  • The projectile that hit the police officer trying to control the crowd was a stone thrown by one of the men in the crowd.
