A propitious moment is a favorable moment for doing something which is likely to be successful. A propitious moment for raising a topic for discussion is a favorable moment for starting the discussion and the discussion is likely to end in a settlement acceptable for all. A propitious occasion for building a house is a time during which the construction would not face any problems.

  • It was not the propitious moment for him to tell his father of his marriage with the girl; his father was in an angry mood, having had a bad time with his boss in the office.
  • The time was very propitious to start his business. By then there had been only one company manufacturing the product, and the demand for it was very high.
