receptive (adj) ready or willing to receive [ideas/opinions/arguments, etc.].

When a person is receptive they are willing to listen to others’ or new ideas or opinions. If they are receptive, they are open to others’ ideas or new ideas. They have an open mind. A receptive mood is a state of mind in which a person is willing to consider some suggestion, proposal, etc.

  • The child is quite smart. Whenever it wants something from its dad, it knows when he is in a receptive mood and approaches him then.
  • The evening pleasant and calm, and the audience in a receptive mood, his speech went will with them. They were favorable to consider his new ideas.
