You refurbish a place if you decorate it to make it look more beautiful or attractive. You refurbish a surface if you polish it and make it brighter. Renovating a building is to refurbish it. A shop is refurbished if it is made to look more attractive and welcomer to the customer.

  • The old furniture looked dull after decades of use. He did not like to dispose them of, so he got them refurbished. Now they look brighter and more attractive, though old in style.
