savory (adj) of unpleasant taste and smell; morally unacceptable.

An item of food is unsavory if it has an unpleasant smell or taste. More importantly, unsavory comments are morally unacceptable comments. Unsavory conduct is dishonest and immoral conduct. A person has unsavory reputation, if they are known for their immoral behavior.

  • What he has done so far is very unsavory. What he has done so far is immoral. I hope he will soon put an end to it.
  • The unsavory conduct of the woman makes her unfit to be a teacher. With her conduct morally not acceptable, we cannot allow her to teach young children.
