serrated (adj) having toothed edges like the saw.

The handsaw has a serrated edge, that is, an edge with a series of tooth-like points. A number of plants have serrated leaves. The edges of the leaves on both sides resemble the edge of a saw.

  • A knife with a serrated edge makes it easy to cut hard wooden boards. The row of tooth like points along its edge cut deep into the wood.
  • The leaves of a good number of plants have serrated edges. Their edges resemble that of a handsaw.
