Shoddy goods are goods of inferior quality, and not well made. Shoddy work is work very badly done. A carpenter does a shoddy job if he does not do the work well, and if his work is not satisfactory. Shoddy also means dishonest or unfair. Shoddy dealings are dishonest dealings. A merchant who cheats is a shoddy businessman. Shoddy business is dishonest business.
