A shrewd person is very clever at understanding situations and judging people. A shrewd businessperson is clever at making the proper investment at the proper time and taking the right decisions. They know what kind a person is. A shrewd politician is a clever politician. A shrewd decision is a clever decision and is likely to have good results.
