supplicate (verb) make a humble request or beg for something.
To supplicate is to beg someone for a favor. Making a humble request for something is supplicating.
- The man supplicated before the king for the release of his son from the prison. He fell on his knees before the king and begged him to pardon his son.
- His spirit of independence would not let him supplicate before anybody for anything. He would rather die than beg somebody for anything.
