symbiosis (noun) mutual dependence between people or companies/different living beings.

Symbiosis is the relationship between people or organizations that benefit from the relationship. The relationship between industry and research is symbiosis, because while the industry provides funds for the research, the industry enjoys the benefits of the research. The relationship or the mutual dependence of two groups of living beings is also symbiosis. Birds peck at the insects and worms on the animals, and thus get food, while they help the animals to be free from insects.

  • The symbiosis between the two organizations is perfect. One of them produces tools for the other, while the other supplies the heavy machineries for the former.
  • There is symbiosis between plants and birds. While plants provide the birds with fruit for their food, the birds disperse the seeds of plants and spread their growth.
