tirade (noun) angry speech criticizing somebody or something; accusing someone of something.

When you launch into a tirade you make a speech criticizing somebody or something. A strong criticism or attack on someone or something is a tirade. Making a severe complaint against someone is also a tirade.

  • The opposition launched into a tirade against the new taxation policy of the government. It was very severe in attacking the new policy of taxation.
  • As expected the leader launched into a tirade against the admission policy of the university. He was very critical of the university, which overlooked merit on some occasions.
