To be tremulous is to tremble, out of fear or excitement. When you are tremulous you shake slightly because you are nervous, or excited. A tremulous voice is a shaking voice. So is a tremulous smile a nervous smile causing you to shake slightly.
- Flintís voice was tremulous as he spoke of the shocking incident he had seen that day. His voice was slightly shaking as he spoke of it, evidently because he was in fear and shock.
