unassuaged (adj) not pacified.

To be unassuaged is to be not soothed or not pacified. When a personís or their feelings are unassuaged, they are unsatisfied, that is their feelings are not cooled down. If a personís anger is unassuaged, their anger has not cooled down.

  • In spite of all his soothing words, her anger remained unassuaged. Nothing he said or did could reduce her anger.
  • The unintentional delay in inviting him has upset him. Try as they might they could not unassuage him. He remained the same angry man for months.
