validate (verb) confirm; ratify.

To validate is to confirm something, that is, to prove that something is true or correct. It also means to make a document or agreement officially and legal acceptable. If an experiment proves your theory correct, it validates your theory, that is, it proves your theory correct. When a document is validated, it can be accepted as legal.

  • When he saw that the other scientistís findings were the same as his, he was happy that his findings were validated. He felt happy that his findings were found to be correct.
