vapid (adj) dull and unimaginative; without taste or flavor; bland.

A vapid writing is dull and unimaginative piece of writing. It is not at all interesting. So is a speech vapid, if it does not interest the listeners. A vapid foodstuff is tasteless and flavor. A vapid drink looks like the drink but doesn’t have it taste and flavor.

  • Half the audiences left in the first ten minutes of his speech. There was nothing in it to interest or excite the audience.
