To verbalize is to express your feelings and thoughts in words. When you verbalize your feelings and ideas, you put them in words so that others may understand what you feel and think.

  • He is a real genius but he has difficulty verbalizing his ideas. He cannot express clearly in words his ideas, feelings and thoughts.
  • Andy was really angry with his father, but he was afraid to verbalize his anger. Because of his fear of his father, he could not put his anger in words.
