Veritable is a word used to emphasize the quality of something. When you use veritable to describe something, you mean that it can be really compared to what it is described as. A veritable royal dinner is certainly like a royal dinner. A veritable computer is a person who has almost as great a memory as a computer, or can do calculations almost as quickly as a computer.

  • Michael is a veritable champion of the weak. You always find him supporting or fighting in support of the weak people suffering injustice at the hands of the strong.
  • Charlie was a veritable Samson. He would certainly remind of the strong man of the Bible, Samson. He had a well-built, strong, muscular and athletic body like that of Samson.
