Bryant University

Since 1863, Bryant has offered an education that challenges, inspires, and prepares students for success. At Bryant, you will create your path, expand your world, and achieve your success in an age of unlimited global opportunity. Bryants innovative curriculum integrates business with liberal arts with an unwavering focus on character and ethics, and is designed to help you create your own path. You pursue your interests in a variety of disciplines while developing credentials that will set you apart in the job market. Our nationally recognized First-Year Gateway centers on fundamental questions about the role of the individual in an ever-changing world. The Gateway sets the stage for you to explore the global foundations of character and leadership, and of organizations and business. The interdisciplinary, 13-credit curriculum is designed to improve your writing proficiency, critical thinking, cultural awareness, information literacy, and ethical reasoning--skills youll need for success during your four years at Bryant and beyond. The Gateway includes the Bryant IDEA (Innovation Design Experience for All). This immersive January program runs for 72 intensive hours, providing you with a unique forum for experiential learning. After a hands-on introduction to design thinking, innovation processes, and teamwork dynamics, you work in teams charged with generating creative solutions to real-world situations in the arts, social services and the business sector. Another unique Gateway component: our Student Life staff collaborates with faculty to identify co-curricular programs aligned with Gateway outcomes. Our goal: to connect your classroom learning with what you do, think, and value as a member of Bryants close-knit, student-centered community. The Bryant experience offers you unparalleled opportunities to expand your world and cultivate your global perspective. Bryants strategic plan, Vision 2020: Expanding the World of Opportunity, has global engagement as its cornerstone. Embark on a journey of discovery as you come to understand the interconnectedness of nations, cultures, and economies. Our distinctive, three-credit Sophomore International Experience (SIE) conducts intensive faculty-led trips in between semesters. Between SIE and students studying abroad, nearly half of all Bryant students participate in a foreign study program. Since 2005, the U.S.-China Institute at Bryant has forged partnerships that offer students and faculty broad global perspectives and experiences. We plan to reconstruct the Shu Fang Zhai building, a section of the Chinese Forbidden City, on our Smithfield, Rhode Island campus. In Zhuhai, China we have entered into a cooperative agreement with the Beijing Institute of Technology, to collaboratively educate students on Bryant's U.S. campus and in Zhuhai, China. Bryant is the only American university with a presence in Zhuhai, the first university to establish a partnership with a private institution in China, and the only U.S.-China joint business program in Guangdong Province on the southeast coast. Our international focus comprises only one dimension of our commitment to expanding the world of opportunity for our students. The hallmark of a Bryant education is preparing graduates to achieve their success. We are proud that 12% of our 2015 graduates enrolled in graduate school, and for the 88% seeking employment, 99% landed jobs within six months of graduation. Its no accident that our recent graduates have achieved this level of success. Bryant offers some of the best faculty in the country, abundant co-curricular opportunities, service learning programs, internships, and practicums that allow students to put theory into practice. The Bryant experience cultivates the knowledge, skills, global perspective, and qualities of character that are prerequisites for success. More than 40,000 Bryant alumni are making a difference in their work and their communities around the world.
