Cottey College

Cottey College, an independent liberal arts college, educates women to be contributing members of a global society through a challenging curriculum and a dynamic campus experience. In our diverse and supportive environment, women develop their potential for personal and professional lives of intellectual engagement and thoughtful action as learners, leaders, and citizens. ~ The Cottey College MissionFounded in 1884 by Virginia Alice Cottey--who believed women should have the same educational opportunities as men--Cottey College added interdisciplinary baccalaureates to its degree options in 2011. These programs share three common threads: Leadership, Social Responsibility and Global Awareness. Cottey is owned and supported by the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic, educational organization. P.E.O. also supports 5 philanthropies that offer scholarships and grants to women to further their education. Students attend Cottey from around the country and across the world. In 2015-16, students from 43 states attended Cottey with 24% diversity. An additional 19% of Cottey students were from 25 different countries.
