For more than a century, WVU Tech has been offering an exceptional education for students that are seeking a small, intimate setting, where individual attention is the accepted norm. Tech is known for its excellent academic programs especially in the STEM disciplines. WVU Tech offers nationally renowned, ABET accredited engineering programs, as well as programs like business management, criminal justice, psychology, nursing and information systems. The universitys historically strong STEM majors enable them to offer outstanding pre-professional programs like pre-med and pre-pharmacy. WVU Tech also offers a wide-range of campus activities designed to complement students classroom learning and enrich their college experience. Students can develop their leadership skills in one of Techs student organizations, such as the student newspaper, Christian Student Union, or intramurals. They can also choose to take advantage of Techs exceptional co-op and internship opportunities or join one of the institutions 13 NAIA collegiate sports, including mens and womens swimming. The university is located in Montgomery, West Virginia, amongst the picturesque mountains of Appalachia between two of the states largest cities, the state capital Charleston and Beckley. Outdoor enthusiasts will find numerous recreational activities including downhill skiing, hiking, mountain biking and white water rafting nearby. Recent campus improvements include the much-loved Tech aquatics center. Future plans include improving and expanding the Tech Hiking Trail and expansion of campus wi-fi to include both on-campus residence halls.
